My view on the 'Aldi Taher phenomenon', published by Tempo this morning. Instead of discussing the outdated debate on the competence of celebrities in the political arena, this op-ed focuses on the structural changes in Indonesia's liberal democracy that encourage the trend of popular celebrities in elections.
